CITY OF CASTLEGAR SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT
Faced with the need to increase the size of its sewage treatment plant, the City of Castlegar, BC acquired Emco's services. Emco Engineering Ltd. provided the design, tendering, construction and commissioning of services for the electrical power and control systems.The project includes:
- ultra violet disinfection
- fine screen &
- vortex head works equipment
- PLC control system with distrubuted I/O
- Motor Control Centre
- 480V to 600V service upgrade
- HVAC and lighting
- fire and intrusion system

CITY OF RICHMOND
GARDEN CITY POND
The City of Richmond, BC constructed a large pond in a new park in 2004. Emco Engineering Ltd. designed and commissioned the control kiosk for the well pump and aerators and the instrumentation. Now the water quality of the pond is maintained by a continuous flow of cool well water and floating aerators. |

CANPAR INDUSTRIES SANDER
LINE RIP SAW
In 2003, Canpar Industries, faced with an aging saw that was difficult and time consuming to calibrate for the various board widths handled by the line, turned to Emco Engineering Ltd. for help. Emco designed and commissioned an easy to use and very precise blade positioning system for the new saw. Saw controls and safety interlocks were also part of the design.

IQALUIT MAIN POWER STATION
HVAC UPGRADE
The Iqaluit 12.6 MW Main Power Station had four generators inside the plant producing more heat than the ventilation system could handle. Emco Engineering Ltd. was commissioned in 2001 to design and implement a PLC controlled HVAC system associated with four large air handling units. Variable Frequency Drives were used for fan control in conjunction with PID controlled dampers and louvres. |

THE CITY OF GRAND FORKS SCADA SYSTEM
In 1998, the City of Grand Forks, BC, implemented a new SCADA system for both their water and waste water facilities. Emco Engineering Ltd. designed, commissioned and supervised construction of the system. The system includes:
- spread spectrum radio communications
- hot-standby repeater site
- voice annunciated alarm system
- extensive data reporting system
- HMI system
